Announcements

Announcements are short notices for your customers: a planned outage, a new service, a change to your support hours. Manage them under Content → Announcements.

The Announcements list: two announcements with their category, status and created date, and edit and delete buttons.

Above the list, Title searches announcement titles and the category menu shows one category. Reset clears both. The columns are Title, Category, Status (a tick for active, a cross for disabled) and Created.

  1. Go to Content → Add Announcement, or click Add Announcement on the list.

  2. Pick a Category and type a Title.

  3. Write the announcement under Description.

  4. Click Save Announcement.

The Edit Announcement form for “New help desk is live”: Category, Title, the Description editor and Status.

Field What it does Default
Category The category the announcement is listed under. Only active categories with Announcement ticked are offered. See Categories. Select Category
Title The headline. Required. –

The toolbar has Save Announcement (stay on the form), Save & New and Save & Close.

An announcement has no start or end date. When it no longer applies, set its Status to Disabled, or delete it with the bin icon on the list.

The customer dashboard can show the latest announcements, with a View All link to the full list, and an Announcements link. From the list customers browse by category and open an announcement to read it. See Announcements in the guide for customers.

Staff whose role allows it can also post and edit announcements from the front end.
