Monthly scan and email

The monthly scan checks the whole site on the 1st of each month. When it finds new problems, the AI suggests fixes for them, and you get an email saying how many are ready. If nothing new turned up, it stays quiet.

  1. Go to the dashboard. In Keeps working on its own, find Monthly scan.

  2. Press Turn On.

  3. The message says The monthly scan is on. It runs on the 1st of each month, and you can change that in System → Scheduled Tasks. The row shows the next scan, such as Next scan Sunday, 01 November 2026 03:00.

Turn On creates the task JS Accessibility Fixer: monthly scan in Joomla’s Scheduled Tasks, running on the 1st of each month at 03:00. You need the right to create scheduled tasks.

  1. It scans the site, like Scan Now. Suggestions you haven’t accepted yet are kept for the same problems.
  2. It finds the problems that are new since the last scan.
  3. If there are new ones, the AI suggests fixes for them, within your spend cap, and the email is sent.

The subject says how many new problems there are, such as 3 new accessibility problems on Café Sunshine. The email gives:

  • How many new problems the scan found.
  • The open problems in total, how many articles, modules, menu items and categories were checked, and the score.
  • How many fixes the AI has suggested, with a link to the Fix Queue to check and accept them.
  • A reminder that nothing on the site changes until you accept a fix.

By default, the site’s email address from System → Global Configuration → Server → Mail.

To send it elsewhere, go to System → Manage → Plugins, open Task - JS Accessibility Fixer, and fill in Email new problems to. Separate several addresses with commas.

The email is sent through Joomla’s mail settings. If emails from your site don’t arrive, check those first. The task’s log says whether the email was sent: Emailed the new problems to ….

  • It doesn’t accept fixes. You do that in the Fix Queue.
  • It doesn’t run the page check, which needs a browser. Run that by hand after you change the template.

Open System → Scheduled Tasks and edit JS Accessibility Fixer: monthly scan to change the day and time, or to disable it. See Scheduled tasks and cron.
