Costs and the spend cap

You pay the AI provider directly, with your own key. JS Accessibility Fixer adds nothing to that price, and it keeps your spending under a cap you set.

Each suggestion is one request to the AI. The provider charges for the text and image sent and the words written back. With the default models, one suggestion usually costs well under a tenth of a cent. In our tests with real content, single suggestions cost between $0.00001 and $0.00006.

A larger model in the Model field costs more per suggestion; check its price with your provider. See Choosing a provider.

These cost nothing and never count:

  • Video titles from YouTube and Vimeo.
  • Heading and table fixes, and labels taken from a placeholder (Pro).
  • Alt text reused for the same image in the same language (Pro).
  • Fixes you type yourself.

Monthly spend cap (USD) in Options is the most the AI suggestions may cost in a month. It is $5 to start with.

  • Before each AI suggestion, the cost so far this month is added up. Once it reaches the cap, no more AI suggestions are made that month, and the Fix Queue says This month’s AI spend cap is reached, so no more suggestions were made. You can raise the cap in Options.
  • The month starts on the 1st. The count starts again from $0 then.
  • Set the cap to 0 to stop all AI suggestions, while keeping your key.
  • The cap covers every AI suggestion: in the Fix Queue, from Suggest for all, from the nightly and monthly tasks (Pro), and from the article editor’s button.

The cost is an estimate, worked out from the provider’s published prices and the size of each request and reply, as the provider reports it. Your provider’s bill is what counts; it may differ a little, for example because of taxes or a price change. As a second guard, set a budget in your provider account too.

The dashboard’s AI spend this month card shows the estimate against your cap, such as $0.42 of your $5.00 cap, with a bar. See The dashboard.

The free version also makes at most 50 AI suggestions a month, whatever they cost. Pro has no such limit; only your spend cap applies. See The free monthly limit.
