What is sent to the AI

Nothing is sent to an AI provider until someone asks for a suggestion. Scans, check on save and the page check run entirely on your site.

Only when a suggestion is asked for:

  • Suggest Fixes in the Fix Queue, for the ticked problems.
  • Suggest alt text with AI in the article editor, for that image.
  • Suggest for all, and the nightly and monthly tasks, if you turned them on (Pro).

If no AI provider is set in Options, nothing is ever sent.

For What goes to the provider
Alt text The image itself, the title of the article, module or category, up to 400 characters of the text near the image, and the language to write in
Link text The link’s current text and address, the title of the article or module, up to 400 characters of the text near the link, and the language
Menu item titles The title, the name of the menu, and the title of the article or category the item opens
Form labels (Pro) The form field’s code, the title, the nearby text, and the language
Translated alt text (Pro) The accepted alt text and the language to translate into

Along with it goes a short instruction, such as “write alt text for this image, under 125 characters”.

  • Your other content: only the one image or link and the text around it.
  • Your visitors’ data, user accounts, emails or passwords.
  • Your site’s address, except as part of a link’s address or an image’s address when it is on your site.
  • Video titles: these come from YouTube or Vimeo, by asking for the video’s public title. No AI is involved.

The request goes from your server straight to the provider you chose, with your key, under your agreement with that provider. JoomSky doesn’t see it. Each provider’s API terms say how it handles the data; for example, OpenAI requests are sent with storage turned off. Check the terms of the provider you pick, especially if your content is confidential.

If your privacy policy lists the services your site uses, add the AI provider you chose, as a service that processes your site’s content (not your visitors’ data).
