One image, one fix

The same image is often used in several places: an article and its translation, a module on many pages, a category image. In Pro, you write its alt text once.

An image counts as the same when its address is the same, wherever it is used: the article text, an article’s image field, a module or a category.

When an image without alt text is used in more than one place in the same language, a tick box appears under its suggestion: Also write it in the 1 other place with this image, or in the 3 other places.

A Fix Queue row for the image blue-flower.jpg in “Summer offers”, with the suggestion “Blue flower among dry leaves beside a green blade of grass.” and the box “Also write it in the 1 other place with this image” ticked.

Tick it, then tick the row and press Accept. The alt text is written in this place and in each of the others. Ticking the box is your approval for those places; each one is listed in the History as Same alt text as this image elsewhere, and each can be undone on its own.

Leave the box empty to fix only this place. The others stay in the queue.

Once you have accepted alt text for an image, the next suggestion for the same image in the same language reuses those words, without asking the AI. The line under the box says The alt text already given to this image elsewhere. This costs nothing and does not count towards your spend cap.

When the same image is used in an article in another language, for example the German version of an English article, its suggestion is the accepted alt text translated by the AI into that language. The AI is asked to keep the meaning and add nothing. You check and accept it like any other suggestion.
